Whats my thing?

So Jen has the retaurant reviews. Vinnie has all the pictures that he takes of us.i was thinking what's my thing? what could be a recurring theme in my blogs to make this interesting? I referrred to on of those "Do You Know Me?" surveys the question? whats my favorite food. the answers? resoundingly, over and over, BEER. so here it is my review ofr happy hours in DC.
Please keep in mind that generally I work alot right now, so youre getting monday happy hours in the future. This time around you'll get a happy hour on a.....Saturday. Now by and large, happy hours on saturdays are unheard of, but in a tucked away corner by the capitol building is a great one. OH yeah, so it s not my story unless you get a good story set-up. Its a saturday after a birthday party.. I think. I was awasted yo. and ramona and I are sitting on the train to go see my friend KAt for soem reason. and my love for the CityPaper brings us to a large add for happy hours on saturday at a Place called
MY BROTHER's PLACE.
the deal? 15 bones gets you all you can drink domestic brew and house vinos from 9pm to 1 am.
worth it? for a saturday its awesome. its metro accessible via a small walk from union station, archives, and a longer walk from capitol south.
where? 2nd and constitution, nw
the atmosphere? so its an old converted rowhouse nextdoor to the flying scotsman, tucked in between the washingotn gas company and another city building. the DMV I think. you pay your 15 cranks at the door wioth a show of ID. they do have a little ATM insode so you good to go. upon entering, its a quick left in the stairwell to the main bar. theres a jukebox in the back which i dig because you can pick your own music if they dont have aDJ. no worries though, because generally the DJs are all request DJs. unless of course you pick Whitney houston singin I will always love you or some shit. keep it lively people. its called happy hour for a reason.
Immediatley upon entering I looked back at the guy that checked my ID. surely most of the people inside were not born before return of the jedi was made. so if you hate young'ns, this is not the spot for you. Its a sports bar with some good muchies and generally sportscenter is on if theres no game. They will default to Texas sports teams if one is playing, but they will play all the big games.
I was drun(as I amm wont to do) when they started pulling the bar tables out of the main bar area to make room for a little dancing. the music also changed from good rock bar sing-a-longs like AC/DC into Fiddy. It was alright since I was with the Pardyboyz. The bathrooms are a little sketchy, but adequate. there was generally no creativity in the bathroom grafitti, only the cliche but classic "for a good time call" lines. overall, it was good times. if theres nothing else to do on a saturday and want to save some loot, but get drunk at the same time, take a metro to my brother's place. great for after the ball game during the summer too. I've never been during the week. my disclaimer, I party with the Pardy boyz, and we bring our own party. if your not haveing fun, check the crew you roll with. maybe it's time to look into getting new friends.
